Rules for using Warp It

How to contribute or claim resources

The Warp It system has been developed to make the transfer of resources between owners simple and easy. The system has been developed after 10 years in the furniture and equipment reuse sector. There are a lot of problems inherent in transferring equipment- which can be avoided with some straightforward guidance.

Please note that you cannot use WARPit to dispose of furniture or equipment that is condemned or obsolete – the furniture and equipment must be fit for purpose and safe to use.

WARPit cannot be used for the transfer of Medical Device equipment. Please contact lpt.medicaldeviceteam@nhs.net  if you have surplus, obsolete or condemned equipment.

WARPit cannot be used for the transfer of IT equipment. Please contact LHIS if you have surplus, obsolete or condemned IT equipment.

WARPit cannot be used for personal claims or transfers, all items are trust property and to be advertised, claimed and transfered between trust sites only.

Contributing resources

When you enter your surplus equipment, please describe the goods accurately. The upload form has been designed to make this process as easy as possible. Where you see a [?] hover over it for guidance.

If someone claims your item(s) they will become responsible for it. Please ensure that if your item is listed on the Trust’s Asset register, the details are changed.

If the item has a maintenance contract, please advise the Procurement Team when the item is claimed, and ensure the claimant is aware of the maintenance contract and the costs.

You can only transfer equipment which is owned by the Trust. Leased equipment cannot be transferred without the specific agreement of the Procurement Team

Equipment on Loan or Trial from a supplier cannot be transferred within LPT by using WARPit.

Claiming Resources

When claiming items, the claimant takes responsibility for the item, its continued safe use in LPT, and the financial and management responsibility for any maintenance and service costs.

Please note that this does NOT include Medical Devices, which have centralised maintenance arrangements .

It is recommended in all cases that claimants make an appointment to view the products of interest before claiming. It is important that claimants satisfy themselves that the items are functionally acceptable.

Transport for items can be arranged by the procurement team. Please email lpt.procurementsupplies@nhs.net

Unclaimed Equipment

Unclaimed equipment can be re-advertised or can be collected by the procurement team.

Items sent to store must not be taken off WARPit – and should still be viewable .

Disposal of unclaimed equipment (including WEEE waste)*

Please refer to the trusts Disposal Policy
