This guide outlines the guidelines and best practices for listing and claiming items on Warp-It. Following these guidelines helps ensure a smooth experience for everyone on the platform.

For contributors (listing items)

• Describe goods accurately with precise details including dimensions, condition, age, and any defects or wear.
• Ownership of listed items transfers to the claimant once a claim is approved and collection is completed.
• Contributors make no warranties regarding the merchantability or fitness for purpose of listed items.
• Ensure items are clean and in the condition described before handover.
• Remove any sensitive or confidential data from electronic equipment before listing.

For claimants (claiming items)

• Make an appointment to view products before committing to ownership where possible.
• Claimants assume full responsibility and risk for items once collected.
• Second-hand equipment is not covered by manufacturer guarantees or warranties.
• Inspect items carefully at the point of collection — any issues should be raised before taking ownership.
• Ensure you have appropriate means of transport arranged for collection.

Photos

• Include clear photos from multiple angles showing the overall condition of the item.
• Photograph any damage, wear, or defects so claimants know exactly what to expect.
• Use good lighting and a clean background where possible.
• If you are unable to upload your own photos, use the Warp-It photo library to select a representative image for your item category.

General guidelines

• Be respectful and professional in all communications with other users.
• Respond to messages and claim requests promptly.
• Arrange collection within agreed timeframes — do not leave claims unactioned.
• Report any issues with items or users through the platform so we can help resolve them.
• Keep your listings up to date — remove items that are no longer available.

Platform guidelines

• No commercial resale of claimed items — Warp-It is for reuse within and between organisations, not for profit.
• Items must be legal to transfer — do not list stolen, counterfeit, or restricted goods.
• Hazardous materials must be clearly labelled with appropriate safety information and handling instructions.
• Electrical items should be noted as untested unless a current PAT test certificate is available.
• Warp-It reserves the right to remove listings that violate these guidelines.
